Design POV 2026: Furniture Creations by UCD Takes Its Place on the Floor

" Design POV does not ask a brand to display a product. It asks a brand to take a position. "

That is the stage Bhaktti Sabhlok chose for the launch of Furniture Creations by UCD. Trained as an architect and an industrial designer, Bhaktti built the brand on one conviction: furniture should carry the same intention as the space it sits in. Design POV 2026, themed Sense & Sensibility, was built on a similar conviction. Not what a space looks like. What it makes you feel.

For a brand rooted in material honesty, that is not a difficult brief. It is the brief UCD was already answering.

A Launch Built on a Point of View, Not a Product Line

Furniture Creations by UCD does not work from a catalogue. Every piece begins with a client’s drawing, an architect’s spatial thinking, and a designer’s material intent. Design POV gave that process a room of its own at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, from 15 to 17 May 2026.

Seventeen architects. Seventeen spaces. One theme, interpreted seventeen ways. UCD entered this conversation across eight collaborations: Sparc Design, Badiwala Edge, Design Hex, AMPM Designs, Abin Studio, DSP, Studio Archohm, and Rugs Raaga. Eight practices, eight interpretations of Sense & Sensibility, each built around furniture from Furniture Creations by UCD.

Bhaktti’s dual background as architect and industrial designer met each studio’s own language, colour and texture with one, material innovation with another, restraint with a third. The result across all eight spaces was the same: visitors could touch what UCD builds, not just look at it. Grain. Joinery. Weight. Finish. The things a photograph cannot carry.

Bespoke Furniture, Presented as a Position

Furniture Creations by UCD stands apart from imported suppliers and local fabricators for one reason: an architect-led team that reads technical drawings the way a project needs them read. At Design POV, that difference stopped being a line in a pitch deck and became something a visitor could stand inside.

Every piece on the floor carried the same discipline UCD applies to a private commission. No fixed collection. No compromise on joinery. No detail added for effect. This is bespoke furniture built the way Bhaktti has always built it, only this time, the room was full of the people who understand exactly what that means: architects, interior designers, and makers with a point of view of their own.

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for.

Why Design POV, Why Now

A launch inside a trade floor gets seen. A launch inside a design conversation gets understood. Bhaktti chose the second, because Furniture Creations by UCD was never built to be browsed. It was built to be specified.

Design POV 2026 gave the brand its first public room to prove that. Seventeen studios interpreting one theme, and UCD standing inside eight of those rooms at once, not as a vendor with a stall, but as a practice with a position, present in every space it helped build.

"Mindfully designed. Honestly built."
